Here in this text is one of the most astounding prophecies of the characteristics and operation of satan.It unveils who he is, that malignant prince of darkness and sheds light on his diabolical character and depraivity .Yet there is far more to this text then just appears it has a very clear referance to the antichrist that should come [more about that later].

Lets look at the first characteristic revealed by the Lord Jesus. [1] He was a murderer many will say and rightly so that this alludes to Cain who killed Abel and the millions of other murders that has proceeded since that day. This is true, but there is a much more deeper aspect to it.A deeper spiritual meaning. Notice Jesus said to those Jews the lusts of your Father ye will do. Hes characteristic is lust a lust for power a lust for worship a lust to dethrone God and bring him down.A desire to be like the most High.Wherever you find these characteristics in operation in men. You are invariably dealing with the devil.His actions been replayed in men.In 2nd Timothy chapter 3 The Holy Ghost says .This know this also that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of there own selves.This self love aspect! I think of the endless selfies people post on FB and twitter .An endless array and spectacle of fallen mans flesh desiring to be noticed and adored. Desiring that worship.Desiring to be gods and godessess . A desire to be on the Throne. I think of Dianas speech she gave to the whole world . “I want to be the queen of mens hearts ” and there you have the ultimate expression of this self love revealed – Men and woman must go gaga and swoon for the princess of Wales. We all know how that tragic story ended. This self centered generation wants veneration and worship and a desire to be the ultimate arbitar of truth.They the ones who determine what truth is for them. Theres no need for God I am my own God. What is true to me is true. Its the very doctrine of satanism. Aleistar Crowley called this “do what thou wilt is the whole of the law.” We see time and time again this satanic doctrine been replayed on our local talk shows. Oprah ,Jerry Springer ,Sally Jesse Raphael all peddle the same slop. Its true to me. I can be gay I can commit adultery I can do what ever I want short of murder because I am truth. Well if you take this argument to its natural conclusion it would have been perfectly legitimate for Hitler to have killed six million Jews and 54 million others. Because that was his truth. This is the very doctrine of satanism at work in society. Its the footsteps of satan its the nature of satan his character is revealed and unveiled as working behind the scenes in every sphere of society. peddling his lies and deception. Leading mutiplied millions to hell.He is behind all these movements in the earth and everthing goes. Theres no such thing as sin. no subject is taboo, except for Born again fundamentalist evangelical christianity. Which is regarded as the enemy and is the enemy.and this movement that is opposed to God and his Christ, Is eventually going to kill christians and slaughter them on a world wide scale. And it already started. A minister in Sweden was arrested because he said homosexuality is a sin.Put in prison for declaring the truth of God. Speak of anything and everything reinvent the church practice yoga have your palms read conduct seances. Have nude worship. Worship God as as he she. But dont condemn anybody were all one were all in the pursuit of our own happiness.This generation has displaced the High and lofty one who inhabiteth eternity.The God who has revealed himself to man. He said I am God and there is none like me. And he meant it ! And whether we like it or not. The day is coming where every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Yet we have the Emergent church and others having a major problem with this God revealed in the Bible. They want to redefine him bring there unholy definition of him and colour him like any of the devilish world religons. Make him look hip and oh so accepting and loving. A happy and enjoyable God who you to be happy above all else. A God who is exactly the same as the Buddhists or the Hindus a God that is compatible with the world round about. And oh these apostates like John Piper redefine the meaning of sin tamper with the very law of God and change the whole meaning of the fall. Piper states that it was not disobediance. That was the sin of the of Adam. It was his failure to find fufillment in God. Thats not what Romans teaches its not waht the Epistles teach. This heretic has redefined the whole message of the gospel and added a mystical New age spin to it. This is heresy. Redefinition is now called theology!And as far as I am concerned it is heresy!

Be ye strong in the Lord and the power of his might Gavin Potter

Finally my Bretheren be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might Ephesians 6;10

Here is an encouraging word of consolation for us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might or we can say in the might of his .power.William Gurnal the Puritan wrote that the christians strength is laid up in God and rests upon the rock of his Almightiness. The christians strength lies in the Lord. And notice what he says it rests upon the rock of his Almightiness. It is very clear to many of us when reading a divine injunction like this that we dont measure up to New Testament standard. We live below the New Testament norm. Many of us are battling with many trials afflictions and temptations and some even battle with secret sin that threatens to destroy them. And the whole failure in our daily walks is because we do not know what is offered to us in the word of God. Now Paul is rousing us to do battle and he is saying the battle is intense . Notice he says Wherefore take unto you the whole Armour of God that ye may be able withstand in the evil day. verse 13. A weak beggerly defeated christian is a contradiction in terms. In fact many today are satisfied because they have gave up the battle years ago and some sin slew them.And many live in despair and are lonely and hurting discouraged. That they cant get the victory over that one thing that keeps rearing its ugly head to destroy them. But yet the Holy Ghost gives a rousing word he says be strong in the Lord. That is get back to the word immerse yourself in the Attributes of God. Study his character study his word see how in the old Testament in particular he made provision time and time again and met his people at the very point of there need. The Lord Jesus revealed himself to Moses in that burning bush and answered Moses when he asked who shall I say hath sent me and the divine reply was Tell them Moses tell them that the Great I AM THAT I AM hath sent thee. Exodus 3:13 The Knox translation translates this verse That the GOD WHO IS Has sent me unto you THE GOD WHO IS. He is saying here that is a God who will meet you at the very point of your need.He is all sufficient in and of himself to deliver you from the trial that you face. That sin that so easily besets you that crisis that has laid hold of you. He is the I AM. the ALL sufficient one. O my friend we desperately need a divine revelation who the Lord Jesus Christ is. Peter writes in his Epistle that he has given to us all things that pertains to life and godliness what Peter is saying under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost. You have every thing you need in Christ.Jesus Christ is not some theological concept he is literal Divine Person at the right hand of God.And it is the work of the Holy Ghost to reveal Christ Jesus to us to bring us into that fullness. Of his fullness have we all received.And grace for grace.

The christian is someone who has received something from him!We desperately need in this hour of apostasy and deception a revelation of our pedigree! Who we are and what we are. In Ephesians 1 :1 the Holy Ghost reveals our pedigree. Take note of the very first verse Paul an apostle by the will of God to the saints at Ephesus the faithful in Christ Jesus. Here we have the barest minimal essential what it means to be a christian. Take note this epistle is addressed to the saints. The New testament Epistles were never ever addressed to the unbelievers it is heretical to teach that any one of this New Testament Epistles can be applied to the world. No its written to the saints.Take note what the author of the book of Hebrews says Holy Bretheren partakers of that heavenly calling….Hebrews 3:1 He reminds us of our pedigree of who we are and what we partake in as believers. We have such a rich inheritance in Christ.We need to be reminded of it. Also note that the book of Ephesians is written from the vantage point of the Heavenly places.the term heavenly places is used over five times in this grand Epistle. And Paul goes on to glory what God has done in Christ he says exults when he says Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the Heavenly places in Christ. There you have it.In Collosians he says in Christ is hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. But notice it comes by God the Father through the Son. By the Holy Spirit. We have a glorious revelation of the trinity in this verse We see God the father of the Lord Jesus who has blessed us with all Holy Spirit blessings in the Heavenly places.Were just skimming the surface. Theres so much more for us. and it is found alone in him my friend… You have every thing you need in Jesus our Lord. Hallelujah

In the book of 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2:3 the Holy Ghost reveals a frightening event that is going to take place in the church in the last days. And this major event is a prelude to Rise of antichrist the beast of Revelation 13. Paul writing under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost states ‘”Let no man deceive you by any means: Lets just stop there and grasp the implications of what the Holy Ghost is saying. We must realise that 2nd Thessalonians 2 is a Holy Ghost commentary and exposition upon Matthew 24 , Luke 21 and Mark 13 known as the Olivet discourse. The Lord Jesus teaching on the last days. The very first thing the Holy Spirit emphasises is the rise in deception spiritual seduction. The Holy Ghost is quoting the words of Jesus verbatim here ;

And he said Take heed that ye be not deceived for many shall come in my name saying I am Christ and shall deceive many. and the time draweth near go ye not after them Matthew 24:8 In the Olivet discourse Jesus warned about pestilences and famines once He warned about earth quakes in diverse places once he warned of nations rising against nations once [ethnic wars where we get the greek word ethnos from] But deception and spiritual seduction he warns about over three times. To emphasise a major point point and that is, The characteristic ear mark of the last days is spiritual seduction. There has always been false prophets and false teachers but in the last days these guys come out of the wood work and multiply like rats.In fact every major heresy and false doctrine that men of God in the history of the christian church stood up against and exposed these errors . And fought these errors in there day and victoriously seemed to overcome. And these heresies seemed have lain dormant. Satan in a last ditch attempt to deceive Gods people in these last days prior to the rapture. Is ressurecting these dormant ancient heresies, Upon a lukewarm Laodecian church. Satan is spewing out of his mouth these heresies and counterfeit religous and spiritual experiances conning multitudes in this deception. A characteristic ear mark of these last days is spiritual seduction. Paul writes in 1st Timothy chapter 4 ; 1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly in the latter times some shall depart from the faith giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. The Knox translation brings it out beautifully “We are expressely told by inspiration that in later days , there will be some who will abandon the faith , listening to false inspirations and doctrines taught by devils. There you have it ! The Holy Spirits direct statement that men would come into the church and be a oracle for satan and peddle devilish false doctrine right in his house. In fact under the inspiration of these fallen angels they will teach! He is saying. Ministers would now become the mouth piece of satan and teach demonic doctrines right in the house of God.As David Wilkerson said in his 1972 book the vision Ministers who were once close to God would become very close to the devil! And that is happening in the church now. The Emergent church , The purpose driven life agenda, circle praying, centering prayer, walking the labrinth. Lesbians preaching and giving the Anglican communion. Transexualism and homosexuality been endorsed by some of the biggest names in Protestanism today. This is just the tip of the ice burg. We have Bill Johnson and his school of supernatural ministry going to the grave sides of dead saints and sucking the anointings from them by lying on the graves. This revolting practice is nothing more then necromancy spiritualism. Yet thousands of people both Cessationist and Charismatic alike will bring the demonic worship of Jesus culture into there churches. And think nothing of this spiritual whoredom. Jesus Culture is spiritual whoredom! It has it s roots in this detestable grave sucking and gold dust and diamonds and demonic experiances of astral travelling which these modern day apostate Charismatics call “going to heaven at will”.Some like John Crowder have claimed to wrestle with the spirit of the dalai lama while on there so called trip to Heaven. These guys are definately experiancing strange things. things that once upon a time Pentecostals called demonic and counterfeit. The Modern day Charismatic Movement is sanctifying satan himself and palming it off as a work of the Holy Ghost. Just listen to what ministers are saying.Francis Chan states we must not criticise Gods ministers. That is a direct word from satan himself. Its satanic it denies the scriptures. Right here in these two verses Ive just read it tells me not to be deceived. Let no deceive you by any means. It warns us to watch out for the wolves.John in his epistle writes Beloved believe not every spirit but try the spirits to see whether they are of God. God calls us to be discerning. God wants his people to be awake and recognise these false teachers when they make there debuts on religous tv . Why because heresy is nothing to toy with Peter writing in his 2nd Epistle states That there were false prophets among the people as there shall be false teachers among you who shall privily bring in DAMNABLE heresies even denying the Lord that bought them. 2nd Peter 2;1 to 3 Thomas Watson the Puritan divine wrote You can go to hell for preaching and listening to false doctrine äs much as you can go to hell for adultery! Theres hell fire in it! theres hell fire in these doctrines. false doctrine will damn your soul…Its imperative in these last days no matter what denomination you are from that we get back to the word of God !Because that is our protection. May the Lord bless this word and aid us and protect us from the evil.

Gleanings from the book of Romans by Gavin Potter

This Mighty Epistle is one of the grandest most supreme theological treatise written by the Holy Ghost by the Apostle Paul. It was written by the Apostle Paul in AD 58 from Corinth.It was written tawords the end of Pauls third missionary journey . The church of Rome was never founded by the Apostle Paul .The church had its begining from the proselytes and Jews who were Roman citizens who saw the outpouring of the Holy Spirit and heard Peter preach and were converted (Acts2:10).An un named someone started that church . Nor was the church of Rome ever founded by the apostle Peter Paul never even mentions him.

It is also interesting to note that Paul had not even visited them or seeing them face to face. And in the eleventh verse he expresses his desire to see them. It was a church that he was burdened for he says he had an intense longing and desire to see them. For I long to see you he says that I might impart some spiritual gift to the end been that ye might be established. All through out the New Testament there is a object tawords which these books these Epistles are written. The object of the book of Romans is found in the eleventh verse, and Pauls desire was to impart some spiritual gift to the end been that the church at Rome would be established.This is a running theme through the New Testament. In the book of John we have the intention and object tawords which it was written revealed “But these are written that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ ,the Son Of God and that believing ye might have life in his name. John 21:31 So if we were to cathecise we would ask “What is the purpose of the gospel of John?” well the gospel of John is to lead us to a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ that is the divine purpose of that book. We find the same purpose expounded in the book of Luke why it was written. Luke writing under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost gives the reason that that thou mightest know the certainty of those things ,wherein thou hast been instructed. There it is the object why the book was written right at the opening verses( verse 1 to 4. ) The emphasis of new Testament Epistles repeatedly emphasise there divine object Paul writing to the Colossians As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord walk ye in him rooted and grounded and established in the faith as ye have been taught abounding therein with thanksgiving (Col 2:7) Notice the continuos emphasis and re emphasis of been established in doctrine found right through out the Epistles we read again in Ephesians That we hence forth be no more children tossed to and fro , and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men and cunning craftiness whereby they lie and wait to deceive. (Ephesians 4:14). Hebrews 13;9 states Be not carried about with diverse and strange doctrines . For it is a good thing for the heart to be established with grace.This call to establishment knowing the doctrine of Christ knowing the word of God studying theology. Every born again christian no matter there education are called to grapple and study and meditate on the scriptures. Sound doctrine is supremely important. We need to study the doctrines in order to be established . We need to grasp what the Holy Ghost is saying in these mighty epistles.. We need to dig out those wells of salvation that have been stopped up by the heretics and false teachers in these last days . It is a matter of supreme importance when we come to the scriptures that we take note of every word and phrase penned by the Holy Ghost.” We are living as paupers in the spiritual realm when we ought to be living as princes because we do not know what is offered to us in the scriptures.” So said Doctor Martyn Lloyd Jones. And he was right.The biggest ill that faces modern christians is there unholy pre occupation with self. The gospel is about God! Take note what he says in the first verse seperated unto the gospel of God. What God has done. We come face to face with what God has done in Christ . We come face to face with the grand doctrine of the Soveringty of God something that this modern generation of flabby evangelicals knows little or nothing about. It begins in God and ends in God and reveals Gods ultimate purpose in Christ. But most today find these glorious truths boring tasteless. They heap to themselves ear tickling teachers who pander to there lusts and wanton desires. The Bible is not about you or me. The Bible is the revelation of God it is a record of the supernatural activity of God. The God of miracles from Genesis to Revelation. The God who changes lives and recover that which Adam lost in the fall. To bring men back to a right relationship with God! Next we come face to face in this mighty Epistle with the scheme of salvation. The economic Trinity God the Father planning our salvation to the minutest detail and God the Son executing that plan and bringing that glorious plan into reality by his death burial and ressurection and the Mighty third person of the trinity applying that the work of the Son to man. The gospel is trinitarian It is the work of the Triune Godhead. O we need a revelation of these divine truths. As Paul prayed in Ephesians that the eyes of our understanding might be enlightened. Thats what we need understanding in these spiritual truths. Jesus repeatedly states to the seven churches at Asia let him that hath ears let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.The meaning of let him hear in the greek is let him understand what the Holy Spirit says to the churches.
